Governance

  • General Body holds the absolute ownership, custody and management rights over its assets and exercises powers to manage the affairs as per the law of the land. GB creates subordinate positions and committees with specific roles, powers and responsibilities, as per needs, in accordance with the byelaws.
  • GB comprises three categories of members, namely, Life Member, Associate Member and Honorary Member with specific criteria and process.
  • Management is vested with the Working Committee (WC) of 35 members including 8 Office Bearers (OB) who step in for policy, and strategic decisions. WC has powers to invite experts and special resources on need basis from time to time. In addition, all past Presidents are Special Invitees for the WC meetings.
  • President, members of the WC and trustees are elected by the Annual General Meeting, once in 3 years. Filling of vacancies on death or resignation, and conduct of AGM and WC is done as per procedure laid down in the byelaws.
  • Paid employees manage the day to day operations overseen by members of the WC as per subject allocation. Infrastructure development and maintenance woks involving construction works, major procurements, contracts, agreements, legal issues, and collaboration strategies are handled by individual trustees or group of trustees as per requirement. All WC members and Trustees work on voluntary basis without any remuneration.
